The Sadie Family Wines – Columella, Multi-vineyard & -variety blend expressive of Swartland. Syrah now reduced in favour of grenache, cinsaut, carignan, tinta barocca & mourvadre. 2018 reflects drought vintage in ripe, dark roast nuts & meat, richly savoury character. A little forbidding now but ripe fruit concentration, freshness ensure healthy future. Unfined/filtered, as all. This range also in 1.5 & 3L.
In the glass, our Red Blend presents a deep garnet hue, hinting at the richness and complexity that awaits. The aroma is a symphony of enticing notes, with luscious dark fruits such as blackberry and plum mingling with nuances of vanilla, spice, and a whisper of cedar from oak aging.
On the palate, this wine unfolds with layers of flavor and texture. Velvety tannins provide structure, while flavors of ripe cherries, blackcurrants, and a touch of chocolate dance across the tongue. The mouthfeel is luxurious, with a long, satisfying finish that leaves a lasting impression.
