Embark on a captivating journey as you discover the allure of The Sadie Family Wines – Skurfberg Chenin Blanc, a true masterpiece from our Swartland family estate. This exceptional wine draws its name from the rugged Skurfberg Mountain, nestled within the Citrusdal mountain area of South Africa.

“Skurfberg,” translating to “Rugged Mountain,” vividly captures the essence—a dynamic blend of edgy terrain and sandy texture, shaped by Table Mountain sandstone formations.

In this pristine region, untouched by the devastating phylloxera, we have the privilege to cultivate rare own-rooted vines. This rarity contributes to a standout expression of Chenin Blanc, elevating our wine within the realm of South African vintages.

Skurfberg defies expectations, skillfully balancing substantial texture with refreshing vibrancy, resilient in the warm, dry climate.

Meticulous winemaking begins with Chenin Blanc grapes on three plots, 2.1 hectares between Clanwilliam and Lamberts Bay. Manual harvest, spontaneous fermentation, separate barrel vinification, and 12 months aging.

After 12 months of aging for each plot, The Sadie Family Wines – Skurfberg Chenin Blanc expert winemakers finesse the final product by blending individual juices. This careful orchestration allows the wine to mature for an additional 6 months, resulting in the exquisite expression found in The Sadie Family Wines – Skurfberg Chenin Blanc. Immerse yourself in this journey, where each bottle invites you to savor the unique terroir and exceptional craftsmanship that defines our family estate’s legacy.
